Pets Safely Rescued as Davenport Fire Quickly Extinguished

Thankfully, no injuries were reported following a fire incident in Davenport that occurred recently.

On Wednesday, May 8, at approximately 9:29 a.m., the Davenport Fire Department swiftly responded to a structure fire located in the 2800 block of Highpoint Dr. Upon arrival, the first fire crew found the occupant safely outside the premises, with smoke emanating from the basement.

Efficient action from the fire crew enabled them to swiftly locate and extinguish the fire. Fortunately, the fire and smoke damage were contained to the basement area.

Notably, the resident managed to evacuate the home accompanied by some of their family pets. Additionally, fire crews heroically rescued the remaining pets from the premises, ensuring their safety.

To facilitate the operation, Mid-American provided assistance in controlling the utilities during the firefighting efforts.

As per standard procedure, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation to determine its origin and circumstances.
