MIAMI – Authorities are probing the origin of a devastating house fire that engulfed a residence in Miami Gardens on Wednesday afternoon.
Footage captured by Chopper 4 depicted Miami-Dade firefighters battling the inferno at a home situated in the 5100 block of NW 194 Lane.
The intensity of the blaze necessitated the deployment of eight fire engines to extinguish the flames.
According to neighbors, the household comprised a mother, father, and two children, all of whom now find themselves displaced in the wake of the fire.
Tragically, one neighbor recounted witnessing the mother’s valiant attempt to re-enter the burning home in a desperate bid to rescue a pet. Regrettably, Miami-Dade Fire confirmed that the beloved animal perished in the blaze.
The somber event has cast a pall over the neighborhood, with residents expressing sympathy for the affected family.
“For you to lose your house right around Mother’s Day โ around any celebration is sad to see, you know. And the fact that you lose pets. We all have pets, when you have pets โ they’re considered family. So it’s really sad though,” remarked neighbor Michaelle Montes.
Fortunately, authorities reported no injuries resulting from the incident, as firefighters diligently investigate the cause of the conflagration.
