๐Ÿพ Why Pet Parents in Colorado Are Living Their Best Lives

If you own a dog or cat, chances are you’re experiencing more happiness than someone without a furry friend.

๐ŸŒŸ The Big Picture

According to Philip Tedeschi, founder of the Institute for Human-Animal Connection at the University of Denver, and supported by a new poll from Rover, pet owners tend to lead happier lives.

๐Ÿ“Š Rover’s Research Findings

Rover’s research revealed that 74% of people with pets report being happy, compared to only 66% of people without pets.

๐Ÿ’– Feeling the Love

People with pets also report feeling more loved on a daily basis (52% vs. 44%). Pets provide daily doses of affection and companionship, which significantly boosts mental health.

๐Ÿž๏ธ Outdoor Activities and Exercise

Pet owners also benefit from more exercise and time spent outdoors. About 72% of pet owners get outside for at least 30 minutes daily, compared to 49% of those without pets. This outdoor activity contributes to better physical and mental health.

๐Ÿง  The Science Behind It

Philip Tedeschi explains that the bond between humans and pets can activate neurotransmitters like oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine, which reduce stress and alleviate anxiety and depression.

๐Ÿถ Emotional Benefits

Animals often seek our attention, alleviate our loneliness, and allow us to feel a sense of belonging. Their presence can be a significant factor in improving our emotional well-being.

๐Ÿ  The Bottom Line

If you’re feeling sad and lonely, a pet might be the perfect remedy. Their companionship and the lifestyle changes they bring can be the prescription you’ve been missing.
